Meelis Pakri was born in Tallinn, Estonia, and graduated from the Vaganova Ballet Academy in St. Petersburg, Russia. He danced as a Principal Dancer  with Estonian National Ballet from 1986-1991, and then as a Principal  Dancer  with Colorado Ballet from 1991-2001, performing leading roles from the classical and contemporary repertoire.

From 2001–2006, Mr. Pakri served as a Ballet Master with Colorado Ballet, working closely with both company dancers and academy students.

Between 2006–2013, he was a faculty member of The Royal Ballet Upper School in London.
 Mr. Pakri has also worked as a guest teacher for The Royal Ballet Company, San Francisco Ballet, and Estonian National Ballet.

During the 2013–2014 season, Mr. Pakri served as a Ballet Master for Houston Ballet.

He has taught master classes internationally throughout the United States, Europe, and Asia, including Japan, Denmark, Italy, and Hungary.

Mr. Pakri is currently a full-time faculty member at The Harid Conservatory in Boca Raton, Florida
